Christmas is a time of joy – this should be true also for parents, who enter into the month of December, without being able to celebrate Christmas and give their children a Christmas present.
Therefore, every year, we at Copenhagen Vineyard, collect used clothes and toys together, so that parents who cannot afford to buy presents, can come and pick out Christmas presents for their children. In 2019, 785 children received presents through this initiative, thanks to everyone who made this possible.
We collect toys and clothes from private people. We collect toys and clothes that are still in good condition and can be given as a present to other children. If you would like to help, you can start collecting now. Collected items can be delivered from November 1 to November 22, at different places in Copenhagen. Contact the project leaders for a list.
In December, the doors open for 4 days for parents, who cannot afford to buy Christmas presents, for their children. Parents are welcomed with coffee and cake before entering the exhibition room to pick out a present for their children. The present is wrapped nicely so that it is ready for Christmas eve.
The children get to enjoy themselves at our Christmas workshop, while the parents pick out Christmas presents for them. At the Christmas workshop, children listen to stories, eat “risengrød” and make Christmas presents, which they can take home to the family.
